Message from the Master

Dear Message from
the Master listeners,
The Message from
the Master program has broadcast Lutheran sermons to loyal listeners
like you for over 30 years. We have been able to offer the sermons to
you free, but that doesn’t mean costs weren’t involved. The program must
purchase and maintain production equipment, pay stipends to preachers,
hosts, producer, and secretary, and pay for radio air time in Milwaukee.
Annual cost of production exceeds $1,000/month.
For 30 years the
Milwaukee Federation of WELS Churches has sponsored and supported the
program with funding. Recently, the Federation itself began seeing a
shortfall of financial support. The Federation also decided to pursue
some new and exciting opportunities in other areas of gospel work such
as campus ministry and incurred major expenses. The result: less
financial support for the Message from the Master program.
Additionally,
groups of WELS churches in other areas of the country had been
purchasing Message from the Master sermons for broadcast in their area.
However, they discontinued the program in favor of other radio and TV
ministries. This meant even more financial loss for Message from the
Master.
We had to decide
whether or not to continue. It was agreed that the program was
worthwhile but we would need operating revenue from user fees.
Therefore, we created a new Message from the Master website to reach a
world-wide audience. Anyone may access the site free, but there will now
be a small fee for downloading sermons either as an audio file (MP3) or
printed file (PDF). Beginning in October of this year, the fee will be
$5/month and will provide login privileges to download current sermons,
as well as archived sermons. Until that time, we will still offer
access to the programs at no cost by using the link below:

Please visit the
new website at
www.messagefromthemaster.com. There are many more options besides
login privileges. You can subscribe to receive sermons on CD, or
delivered via e-mail or US mail. You can even receive each sermon with
an accompanying Bible study.
